I would like to copy some screensavers and desktop backgrounds from my HP laptop to my Dell desktop. I asked this before but none of the answers are helping me too much.. I need to know
-how to do this
-where to find the files - screensavers and backgrounds both
-can i email them to myself (without something called a pin-driver) and download or put them onto the desktop
-how do i install them onto the desktop once I copy them to the desktop - SO THEY SHOW IN THE MENU ALONG WITH THE OTHER SCREENSAVERS??
***meaning what folder do I put them in so they will come up automatically in the properties - screensavers menu off of the desktop?

Please give extra details :) as to where to find them, how to copy them (on what) how to install, where to install so they show up in menu - please!! thanks! :o)

IN response to one of the answers, I don't want to use the screensavers available online.. there are one or two screensavers and desktop backgrounds (nature and the new aquarium) that came ON MY LAPTOP and I want to install them, on my desktop - I do not want to download new ones from a website - (thanks for suggestion) but I have the ones I want on the laptop - but my desktop came out before that time so I want to install the ones that came on the laptop ONTO THE DESKTOP. I just need to know where to find them ON THE C DRIVE TO INSTALL ONTO THE C DRIVE OF THE DESKTOP... :)

c:/windows/system32 is the file path.
Usually you can just copy your .scr files to this directory and they will be available to use.

Usually the screensavers are located in the System32 folder like someone else here said. However, you don't want to copy that entire folder over to another PC, because there are a lot of other system files that shouldn't be moved.

Instead, do a file search for *.scr

All screensavers should have this as the extension. The search will turn up a lot of hits. Hopefully you can recognize your personal screensavers in the list and just copy those. Make sure you put them in the same location on the other PC.

Screensaver files are actually files with .scr extension as compare to .doc for word documents, .xls for excel worksheets, etc.

You might be able to find these files when you search ".scr" in explorer.
Copy the screensaver of your choice to another computer.

Now for installation: Right click to the scr file and you have there the options: Test, Configure and install. Select the option you want.

No sweat. Very easy. You can do it.
