It's a dual channel kit by g.skill 2x 1GB DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz, it went in just fine and it shows up as the full 2gb but it's only at 333MHz, it's on a dell e1505. my bios says it supports up to 667MHz so it's not a compatability issue. any ideas? maybe i got ripped off.

Firstly, how to determine the speed of the RAM in my CPU?
Secondly, I have a 256MB RAM at the moment. I bought a 512MB RAM the other day. There are 2 slots for RAM on the motherboard, one already has a RAM (256mb) card in it. Now, can I insert the 512 MB card into the other slot?

A man who fixes computers says the screen keeps freezing due to a fault in one of the peripherals (monitor/printer/keyboard etc.) but he can't seem to pinpoint the problem or fix it. I only thought that this happened if there was a problem with the hard drive (e.g. virus). What are the main reasons for a computer freezing? Is this man a waste of time?

My computer used to only have local disk C which has a capacity of 74.52 GB. But somethings happened, my PC broke and said they had to cut the memory in half. Now I have local disk C and local disk D. C contains 39 GB while D conatins 35. The start up got slower the one with like The Windows logo and the blue loading bar-like (by the way, I'm Windows XP Home Edition). My whole PC got slower than before it broke. What probably caused it to be slower (not much fragmented files, only less than 10%). They changed something and I forgot what it is.

I had 256Mb and installed a further 1Gb. Both memory cards are DDR3 and made by the same manufacturer. Now the computer is blue-screening every 5 minutes and running like a tortoise. What gives?

I have a new 160G hard drive. I copy everything from my old 60G drive. It works fine for my one computer that I imported all of the data from, but when I try to run it on another it won't work. It says "Error loading Operating System"

I think the problem is that the computer I got the data from has an Pentium4 processor and my other computer has intel celeron.

What can I do?! IS there anyplace i can download something to fix this?

Bought a HP Optical mouse after my other went out, It worked fine for a while and then started jumping everywhere, i thought it may have been faulty, so i got another of the same type and it did the same thing. Bit odd i thought, so i found a ball mouse laying around and it did the same thing. I have checked the port (Ps2) and it looks fine. Yesterday some of my games were freezing for about 4 seconds on and off and today i noticed 2 games i had crashed that never have before.

Any ideas what it could be? Could this be RAM be going out or my video card causing all these problems?

I need a new hard drive. Should I buy an internal or external one? I've made a list of pros and cons
internal
pros:
cheaper
more reliable ? (up to 5 year warranty)
don't have to worry about problems running software on drive (mostly applies to games)
cons
have to open case to install
may cause problems w/ windows
external
pros
installing is much easier
no windows issues
cons
more expensive
no windows issues
cons
more expensive
may be less reliable (one-year warranties only)
problems running software (games) installed on drive ?

This does not happen with all videos just with some. Sometimes i see the dots on my desk top, some times i dont. When i play video games there are sometimes annoying trails on things. Is this the monitor or video card. My monitor is a Gateway EV700 and my video card is a NVIDIA GEFORCE 5200. Im not sure where the problem is coming from.

Isit it true that AMD will get heated up very fast.I've had already made some research and people telling me that AMD will only get heated up if we overclocked it.I wouldn't be overclocking it.I heard that pentium D is having some problem.SO most of them said don't choose Pentium D.I'm not deciding to take core 2 duo because its very expensive.plz give me a best solution whether the configuration I gave is suitable and an good opinion too so that I can make a last decision that wouldn't be wrong.

I've nearly run out of space on my primary drive; only a couple of gb left out of 160gb. Any ideas on what to upgrade to and how to install the new drive? I'm thinking 320-400gb SATA. I would strongly prefer to clone my boot drive. Any ideas on the best way to do that?
