Its an intel D815efv will it support a 160gb HDD it has XP pro service pack 2 and its from 2001?

Should be no problem. If there is, go to the HDD manufacturer's website and d/l their large-format HDD formatting program. XPsp2 will recognize very large HDD's.

well you have told me the processer and the name of the computer, GB of the hardrive can vairy from computer to computer, e.g. i have a computer which is designed as 100GB, but i got a hardrive which is 300BG!
So things can change, to find out go to My Computer

C Drive, Right Click Propities, and there it tells you all the information, if you have a partion, you may have a D Drive, just do the same as the C Drive and you can get the information that you require, More information contact Microsoft!

it will support 160 gb, u need SATA hard disk with 7200 rpm and above
