after uprgrading to Windows XP, i cannot install my webcam. Why?

My previous OS was ME. My webcam was perfectly functioning with ME. The installation disk label of my webcam says that it is compatible with Windows 98/ME/2000 and XP.

Do not install the camera. Just plug it in and XP will tell you it found new hardware followed by a message that the new hardware is installed and ready to use.
Most hardware is 'plug & play' in XP. If the disk is required, you will get a message saying so.
If the camera is already installed from your disk, UNinstall it in Add / Remove programs and plug the camera in.

This maybe you have installed the Windows XP wrongly.

OR

You have not connected the webcam correctly. Try other USB slot.

OR

Your cd drive was not working correctly because your cd drive was not compatible with the installation cd.


Maybe your XP edition is not automatically installed if the new hardware found. Example of hardware: Webcam, TV Card, Printer. This hardware will not installed automatically. It need a Installation Dics.
