Wow..so you have used 158GB? You must be storing either music, pictures, or movies on your hard drive. It would be much better to burn those to a CD or DVD. If you insist on another hard drive, then I would use a USB external hard drive.
Good luck on cloning your hard drive, because
windows will be a pain in the neck..big time. (Unless you have an unlimited supply of money, if that is the case you can always buy a NEW operating system)
They will accuse you of counterfitting windows because you changed the hard drive..windows will detect it and you will have to "reactivate" your license on the new hard drive, especially if you have also changed something else, such as memory, Nic card, etc. If you had trouble and replaced your hard drive before, Windows may not let you reactivate Windows at all, and you will be stuck.

if you want to fix all of your problems this is what you do.
turn off your computer.
in the back of your computer tower.
unplug everything.
(keep it unplugged)
then hold down the power button for 10 seconds to drain out all of the energy.
plug back in only the keyboard, moniter, computer tower, and mouse.
then turn on your computer as it is turning on like i mean right when the screen shows up press and hold down ctrl and press F11 three times.
a screen should show up that says
restortion
and
reboot
click restortion
and then press
confirm when the next thing pops up
then watch the pregress thing show u it go up to 100%
then your done
alls you have to do next is
fill out a thing sence this makes your computer brand new out of the box
it deletes EVERYTHING you have ever downloaded on it. its worth it your computer will run SUPER FAST as well as your internet will to
note:when you turn on the computer to do this. if it goes to the log in thing you did it wrong restart your computer and do press ctrl F11 before you get to the login thing.
if your computer wont do this
go find the disks your computer came with
and find the one that says restortion dick on it
and put that in your computer and follow the directions on it
its very easy
and worth it
if you are having problems call your computer company (dell, apple ect.)
you can find there phone number on there websites in the link that says contact.
you will have to get the number for technocal support
it mite ask for a express number or whatever you find that on the side of your computer tower. if not ask the person you call.
hope this helps
its alot easier than it sounds
any questions just email me
i did this a few days ago cuz my computer was really crappy to but now its all fixed and it works like a brand new computer out of the box.

it depends if you have room in your case your probably do and its as easy as connecting a extra power wire (already in computer) into the back of the new drive when mounted properly. Then run the software and your done. Maxtor has good ones

Just add asecond drive , external or internal , doesn't matter. If your old drive is not failing , don't replace it , just add another one. That's what I did , and now I have twice the storage.
