You probably un-knowingly loosened a connector somewhere check all connections that could have gotten pulled loose while you were inserting the new hard drive. Heck just check every plug on the board it will only take a minute. Restart and If problem persists re-seat your memory and check all of your pci/isa cards to insure they are seated properly. Most likely if you had it working and it stopped then it is going to be something that got pulled loose somewhere Good luck.

couple things.......first try switching the master to cable select, if that doesnt work switch back, try taking the jumpers out of the slave drive, if that doesnt work put it/them back to slave....make sure that the slave drive is formatted and partitioned...no other operating system on it....make sure the slave is in NTFS format and not FAT32......Dells can be touchy...make sure that the slave is compatible w/ the Dell, go to Dell.com to get that answer...check ur bios.....make sure that its recognizing the the slave drive......next, check ur ram...if u r using 2 diff sizes of ram (which it lQQks like ur using a 256 and a 512) make sure that the 512 stick is in slot 1 and work ur way down from there....otherwise ur memory will be out of run....Goodluck

Two beeps normally indicate bad memory!
Earth yourself, (touch the cold water tap, to get rid of static).
Undo the two clips holding the RAM in place, pull out, and push back in until the clips click into place.
If it still beeps, the ram is dead!
