I have 4 USB ports. My problem is if I connect one USB device (printer, joypad, etc), the device running ok.

If I connect two USB devices, the devices start to operate below average.

If I connect three, more problem occurs such as:

-when transfer data to pen drive - cannot copy, path too deep
-device not found

I can't imagine if I connect 4. So, anybody kindly please answer my question..

I just upgraded from 2 128 sticks of PC100 to 2 256 sticks of PC133. The motherboard is reading the amount just fine, but it won't run it any higher than 100 MHz. I have an Asus A7V-ML Motherboard with Phoenix (8/31/01) Bios. I'm running an AMD Athlon T-Bird 1300. I tried to change the Memory Bus Speed in the Bios but it wont let me. Any advice at all? (also running xp home sp2 and have Everest available)

I have a Pent 1.4 with 1 Meg of RAM with an older Creative Sound Blaster PCI. Recently when I go to play a song with Media Player or any other player it plays with static and slower than normal. When I fully minimize Media Player it plays perfectly fine unless I move the mouse around and then I hear static again which fluctuates with mouse movement. The mouse does not slow the music at all but any movement or action (open program) causes bad static. Its strange but if I minimize the media player half way it still runs slower but not as slow. Fully minimized is perfect if I dont do anything. I ran all tests for sound and all checked fine. No conflicts. Tested speakers with MP3 and they are fine. Switched to a different sound card with same static. Updated drivers - still happens. Ran a full diagnostic on the PC and all was fine. My next step is to light a candle in Church...HELP I need my sound back!!

I have Windows XP Pro installed on my computer, i have a new 200gb hard drive, can i copy windows and all of my settings and programs to the 200gb hard drive to replace my old one? my original hard drive was an 80gb so u can see why i upgraded. If it won't work with a direct copy, is there any free programs that will make this work? If so please help me out as I want to be able to use the 200, instead of the 80. Note: I'm using the same computer for both drives.

I just bought a computer that reads

"Dual-Core Mobile Performance"

AMD mobil rion 64 X2 Mobile TechnologyPerformance

I asked the sales guy (kid) "Does this computer have a dual processor? He said it did. I thought I was getting a duo computer.

I was supicious from the wording "dual-core PERFORMANCE"

Reading Yahoo answers I leared my computer is not really duo computer.

I think I'm taking it back, even with the 10% restocking fee.

Here is the answer I read:

Dual core is not an actual implementation it is just a double core processor having their different cache and shared bus. So if a one processor want to communicate with the other then it has to do the same by means of system bus.

But in case of Core Duo the two processors have a shared cache which is shared dynamically. means all of the cache can be used by one processor if the other one is free or do not need it. Also processors can comunicate directly.

Also core due requires less power as compared to dual core.

so go for Core duo processor

I recently unhooked everything from my motherboard and rehooked it (for mainenance purposes). It still has the old operating system installed (I didn't reformat or reinstall the windows yet).
But all the 3D graphics programs that I'm running (moddeling, games etc) are lagging now, the movements are choppy and it is much slower in general. I need to brain storm of what it might be.
Here are the possibilities that I came up with so far:
1) I thorowly checked all the hardware (and tested it) the only thing that I've noticed there is a dark (burnt?) area at the edge of the Ram stick plug-in. Can my computer still run with the damaged DDR2 stick?
2) I simply need to reinstall my Operating System since it has been 6-7 months and I have been doing a lot of graphics work on my comp.

I understand that it is a very general question but if you can help me brain storm I would appreciate it.

I have an external hard drive that all of a sudden will not show up on the computer, it never got banged around or anything. I have alot of files on there that I really want, but I see that most data recovery services cost around $500 to get your stuff off.

I'm wondering if theres a way to have the hard drive fixed by a computer shop of some sort, or if that would even be cheaper?

I'm just looking for a positive answer here haha.

thanks.

I know classes could help me, but I don't really care to fork over $500 for one class where I could go online and read instructions for free, yet I still get the hands on experience I would need. Any websites or books that could help me learn more about building computers.
