I just upgraded from 2 128 sticks of PC100 to 2 256 sticks of PC133. The motherboard is reading the amount just fine, but it won't run it any higher than 100 MHz. I have an Asus A7V-ML Motherboard with Phoenix (8/31/01) Bios. I'm running an AMD Athlon T-Bird 1300. I tried to change the Memory Bus Speed in the Bios but it wont let me. Any advice at all? (also running xp home sp2 and have Everest available)

On older motherboards like that, it will only run the RAM at one speed, in this case 100Mhz. While you can install the faster memory in and it will work, it will automatically slow down. If the BIOS will not let you manually change the memory speed, there is pretty much nothing you can do.

cause you pc100 is the slow ram so i believe it will only run at 100. get rid of the pc100 sticks. it seams like your setup is rather old, maybe a whole computer upgrade would be more sufficent
