hello im in the rough draft stages if you will of building a gaming pc. im trying to save money, but i dont know **** about computers, and all the termonology give me a headache. I have a shoping cart full of some stuff from tigerdirect, and i need some help.

are all these things compatable?
what more do i need?
what should i remove or replace?
would this grind out todays games?
is this a good setup?
suggestions?

please please give me some constructive criticism here i need all the info i can get, i want to build a gaming pc under 1,000 bucks

A pop-up window recently appeared warning me that my hard drive was almost full and, on checking, I found I had less than 2GB (out of 37GB) free space left! This came as a surprise as I had not added any new programmes for ages however I carried out "disc clean-up", removed some large rarely used programmes, purchased and ran "Wincleaner" as well as "Ad-Aware" and "AVG Antispyware" but, to my surprise these actions did not appear to free up any significant space and I am still getting warnings! I tried to "defrag" but was told there was insufficient space to carry out this process (it apparently requires 15% space and I have less than 2%!) On looking at the defrag. analysis it appears that the most space is being taken up by "Contiguous" files (whatever that means!) and very little by "Unmoveable" files. So why can't I free up any space? Any help or suggestions from you experts out there would be gratefully received.

I got a Dell a few years ago, but for the past 1 - 1.5 years, the fan is incredebly loud. It's not hitting against anything, it's just circulating air really really fast.

I have 60% free space, eliminated useless background programs, defragged, cleared files, performed a virus/spyware scan and found nothing, and this thing is still going like I have 10000 programs running.

What's wrong with this peice of Dell junk?

Note: It's not loud at all when I start it up, only once I start a program, such as IE.

Why is the US system for tvs different from most countries? I found the right tv for the right price for my beach house in Rio but the system is different there; PAL. My brother says that problably the tvs from US will work there now because of free trade. They also say that it's best to buy there because even if you fix it to make it work, it wont be as good...What to do??? Thank you for all the answers...peace..

My Dell laptop has been getting the "death screen" the past couple weeks if I have to many windows open, but it would just go away and restart. Today...different story. It starts over and it says...

Fixed optical drive not found
NTLDR is missing
Press Ctrl+Alt+DEl to restart

But...when you do that it just restarts the computer and goes back to this screen...what can i do!? I have things on the desktop that I need! Everything is in...

I hear Mac users bragging about their computers all the time when compared to PCs, and I just don't see the appeal. So, really... what makes a Mac so brag-worthy? I've heard it said that they're more secure than PCs which I know for a fact is a load of bull: they get FEWER hacks, viruses, and whatnot only because they aren't as common as PCs. I'm looking at buying a new laptop/notebook in the next year or two, so I'm curious to know if anyone has a GOOD reason why I should buy a Mac over a PC.

i admit it, im addicted to the sims 2 (all exp packs), and yeah. But, my performance is getting slower and slower, I might need to reformat soon, but to make better performance with higher quality smoothness other than just giving the game with high details in graphics, i want to make sure if the video graphic card increase the speed of the game play as well as the RAM, HD, and the CPU. Unless everything parallel with each other... .__.; then that would be a problem cuz then i might need to buy everything with high speculations... >_>;;

Basically, i want to do this so i can make sims 2 movies and actually not lag in the game at all! >.<;; someone please help me!

I want to buy a Gigabyte GA-K8N-SLI Socket 939 motherboard for my next computer upgrade, but every site I've been to has them out of stock. If you can find me a trusted site that has this motherboard for sale I will definitely give you the best answer for this question. I have heard that there discontinuing all socket 939 motherboards that's probably why I'm having so much trouble finding this one that I want. If I can't get a 939 motherboard then I can't do my computer upgrade for a whole nother year due to money problems:-(. Problem is after the install process the monitor goes blank at the start of windows but the startup process continues with no display. I have removed on board driver, set the shared memory to 0, installed the video card and installed the driver. Anyone had the same problem?
