Find the model you want & then enter the name & model into the search engine on this site :

http://www.nextag.com/

The result will show a long list of resellers & will highlight who has the lowest price. Availability is also shown as well as reseller reviews.

If it's a brand new lap top, Walmart, Staples, Best Buy, Future Shop and Zeller's. Future Shop is sometimes really unreliable...I remember one of my friend bought flat plasma screen TV with 3 year warranty, then he brought it back to Future Shop within month because it was acting weird. He had to struggle so hard for them to fix his TV.

If you don't mind getting used lap top, go to local pawn shops, craigslist, garage sale and ebay would be good choices. But be careful not to be scammed!

Good luck!

Try www.ubid.com The nice thing about them, is they only re-sell from corporate America.

I always worry about buying something from eBay. Is/was it stolen? Did somebody "change something under the cover" (hardware or software) and would I know how to fix it?

Also check CompUSA, BestBuy, and Costco. If there is no store in your area, check their website. One of them (BestBuy ?) ran a deal last weekend for a great laptop for about $500 - brand new. Which is even better than all of the places I mentioned above.
