My Dell laptop has been getting the "death screen" the past couple weeks if I have to many windows open, but it would just go away and restart. Today...different story. It starts over and it says...

Fixed optical drive not found
NTLDR is missing
Press Ctrl+Alt+DEl to restart
_

But...when you do that it just restarts the computer and goes back to this screen...what can i do!? I have things on the desktop that I need! Everything is in...

I just had this problem myself....Windows is corrupt. In my case my hard drive actually died and i had to replace it. Now...it is not recognizing an optical drive being present...which means one of 2 things...Either you don't have one installed...or...the motherboard is not recognizing it.

The likely cause of your issues are heat related. If i were you I would take your laptop to a reputable repair shop to have the components tested for failures. You could go through a series of trial and error...but you will probably come out cheaper if you take it to the shop

Dude im sorry to tell you this, but I think you have lost your hard drive and might have lost all of your information you havent backed up.

reboot your computer. open it up if you have to. or give it to the technician, or take it to PC club.
