It just shows an "X" instead of showing the amount charged. The USB battery charging plug thing is green, not orange, but if I unplug it, the computer immediately turns off! HELP! What do I do?!

There are some simple steps to resolve this problem in the article. Your batter seems to have went into Low Power Mode. Did leave your MacBook running on battery for a long period of time? Let me know how it works out.

You battery is dead. You may need to get it replaced.
