im trying to get some pictures from my phone to the computer and everytime i plug it in it says that windows dosen't recognise it....how do i get windows to recognise??

You should have gotten some software with the phone on a cd. If you didnt, go to the phone manufacturers website and download the driver.

Your Computer needs to have the Drivers of your Phone installed before connecting the phone to the computer.
If its a Nokia Phone you need to install Nokia PC Suite which is cimpatiable with your Phone, similarly other comapnies have similar progarams which come along with the phone or can be download from the website.
Once you have the software installed your phone should be recognised fine my Windows.
