I have had my Nvidea Geoforce 7600 card installed on my computer(dell Dimension 4550 , Pent 4 ,2.4 ghz 1 g ram) and it has run beautifully under 2000pro..In order to run newer games i installed XP Pro on a separate hard drive..It (xp) runs fine,HOWEVER...It will not acknowledge my video card.Ive run the install cd that came with the card.it claims to have taken the install but NO ..on every start up it goes thru the "found new hardware" and i offer up the nvidea disk ...but still wont take....XP is a supported os for this card .....what gives? I knew i fought the xp os upgrade for a reason....but didnt think it would be this difficult...HELP

It takes almost 30 seconds to go from one e-mail to the next or even to delete one. I just defragmented my computer and it has 73% free space. This slowness has just recently happened, so I don't know if I accidently did something to make this happen. I have no clue as to what my next step might be to try. As you can see I'm not very computer literate. I would appreciate any detailed step by step answers. I have a Dell that's about 2 years old with Windows XP. Thanks.

i'm upgrading a friend's pc but it is old, it works with sdram (pc133) and has 256Mb. I wanna upgrade to 1 gb but when i put in the slot the memory and turn on the pc it doesnt reconize all the ram only in the BIOS's menu shows just 256MB.
the motherboard is:
MS7188D (Matsonic) and it supports 1 gb

I wanna know how can i solve this problem?

if you will answer "updating your BIOS" please explain how i can do that cause i know that is dangerous :S

i have a dell optiplex gx150 that i just upgraded to 512mb. but i wanna get it too burn dvds and have alot more memory than it does. i dont want a gaming pc but i wanna have alot of music and pics. my dell is a basic office version and it has no cd/dvd writing capabilities, no high speed ports, and it has a pentium 3 processor soooo yeah it sucks. i wanna know if i can build a decent low end pc to perform the duties i listed using this cabinet. i am willing to change motherboards and any other necessary components. any input would be greatly appreciated.
