I think I mentioned in your last post that you can't "Go Back" to a lesser version of Windows ... and XP Home is a lesser version than XP Professional ... same applies ..if you do a new install it will wipe all your installed programs ... have you just tried to activate it online ... who knows ... you may get lucky and it will activate ok ... if it doesn't ... you're no worse off ... what have you got to lose???

You cannot downgrade from Windows XP Professional to Windows XP Home. What you need to do is a complete OS reinstall. Just make sure you have all the program installers for all the programs installed in your computer and also all the Driver CDs for the hardware.

if u put windows xp cd in ur computer try to run setup from windows and it ask for new installation or upgrade if u upgrade it will not delete ur programs which is installed on ur pc u can work after the installation as u work in win me but to upgrade if u r using win xp with service pack 2 it needs a product key ,if u want find from google or tell your cousin to give you pruduct key but its better to back up all the programs and files of ur pc

You need to back up all your other programs and files to an external source, then do a format and clean install of XP home.
