The easiest way I have found to do it on the XP operating system is using the program, Partition Magic. You can shrink, expand, delete, merge, make active, hide, and create partitions without damage to existing files or partitions. Well worth the money in my opinion.

No, XP does not have the same partitioning power as you are used to in Vista. Basic Partition creation can be done in using the disk management utilities in Adminstrative Tools.

You could try something like partition magic. Usually mutiple partitions can be created during the initial install, and you select which partition you want to install the OS to. Once the install is complete you can go to my computer, right click and select manage, then go to disk manager and you will see the partitions there. You can then format the partitions that you didn't install windows on. If you don't want to reinstall you are going to have to purchase some software.

You would need to get a utility prom from someone like symantec, because Windows will wipe existing data.

You would use the same program to do it in XP.

To get there, go to start -> run -> then type "diskmgmt.msc"
