My mac keeps ejecting the Tiger installation disc. I checked apple.com troubleshooting and it says that I need a superdrive update. When I download that the update it tells me that it is only necessary for models equipped with a SuperDrive and won't allow me to go any farther. The disc drive was repaired once in the past. What can I do?

I need a new harddrive is there any way i can just buy another and keep my old on and just add it to the computer. Will they act as one or will i need to save things to differant hard drive

I just purchased a new HP Pavillion m7658n. It came with a video card that allows me to watch TV. When I began using it, I had a 19" monitor and I was able to watch tv, via cable, and watch dvd's with no problems. I just upgraded to a 24" monitor and now the dvd is "jerking"- I have tried using different DVD's. I am thinking that the video card cannot support the larger screen but can't confirm this. I spent a bit of money on the computer and would rather not have to spend another 125+ dollars on a new card, so I was thinking of plugging in a dvd player. The only issue is, I can't locate a channel to watch the dvd from the player, such as on my regular tv there is an ACV channel like on VCR's that may use channel 3. Any help would be appreciatd.

I have 3 gb's of DDR 3200 ram in my desktop running dual channel.I am wondering if it would be better to force the core windows system to memory instead of pagefile.Is there any risks.What should I set the pagefile at.And should I force dll's of memory as well.Thanx

I have a gateway tower, and The compute wil no longer boot or display anything on the monitor. When I pug in the copmuter, both the power and active lights turn on and the Power suppy, and Processor fans kick on at full blast. The drive lights flash on and off, but No Bios...
Any ideas?

i have a compaq presario i bought in september 2004. i was able to put my pictures as background for my desktop. for the past 10 months i cant do it. the only thing about my desktop i can change is the color background. is there any way i can change this or is my computer too old to fix? i bought it new for 498.00 at walmart, so i wont be devastated if i can't but if there is a chance i want to be able to change it.

I'm not dissing Win Vista or nething but in my personel opionnion, it doesn't support a few drivers for my digital camera.
Neways.... I have this Old Windows XP HOME EDITION "Upgrade CD" at home (brand new, just laying around)
So i was thinking can i de-grade and switch my Os to Win XP?

I don't want any complications, just wondering if it will be safe to do it.

My computer has 256mb of ram in it, but when I look at the system information in the control pannel, it says it only has 192mb of ram. Why dosen't it see all of the ram and how do I fix it?

Do I need to replace my power supply? Every 30 or 40 minutes my computer crashes for 10 seconds then starts working fine. I do not have to re-boot the computer. Could the power supply fan not turning on be the cause for the computer crashing.

Is there anyway i can find out how much power my pc uses per hour. It is a Shuttle SS30G2 and works on full fan. Are there any websites that can tell me what the power consumption is or how i can find it out?

Can someone plz help me? I keep getting bootmgr missing press ctrl+alt+delete whenever I try to restart my computer now! I have Windows Vista and it all started when I kept getting "windows explorer has stopped working" and it kept restarting and doing the same thing. So, I went into F8 on startup and tried to start it up in safe mode, but that didnt work. So i chose 'Repair' next and I tried to do system recovery and I thought I clicked the wrong system recovery, so I canceled it and restarted my computer, and then I started getting bootmgr missing. I personally think that it was because I cut the system recover short and it erased it and couldn't recover it back. Please Help!
