I don't do gaming, but sometimes run several applications at the same time. Is one gig enough? Or do I need two?

i would pay for the extra gig of ram. sometimes its cheaper and sometimes the extra ram will only be accepted by that make.

if you don't max out your ram, some applications will hog a lot of your memory leaving you with a brand new slow computer.

pay for it... its a one time cost.

good luck!

That depends what those applications are. Unless you are doing heavy graphics work (3d applications or photoshop for example) then the extra gig probably won't bring much benefit.

You can always upgrade later on.

Hi. I agree with your first answer. If the PC slows down you can always add more memory in the future. If you said you were a gamer I would have said 'absolutely'.
