In setting up one of our computers, the harddrive was divided just in case of a crash not all info wil be lost on one drive. Now the computer is going slower and the other drive with reserve space is not being utilized. Can someone help me undo that?

I have good quality speakers, but for some reason sound only comes out of the left speaker, in mono, no more stereo. It used to sound good but I don't know why it doesn't play stereo anymore. The speakers are fine because I tried them on my laptop, so it's not that I need new speakers.

Someone suggested a "sound card". Would that help? What is it?

I am use to using Emachines with no problem. I was talked into a MAC from a salesmen at Nebraska Furniture Mart and wish maybe I would have waited. It is a great computer but I am not able to use it to its full potential.

I've tried repairing ntfs.sys w/ Windows XP CD, but the setup says that it cannot find any hard drives!! I have 2 hard drives and it doesn't recognize either of them! In system BIOS it does recognize both of them and their capacity. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting them- no luck.

I've also tried replacing ntfs.sys w/a boot disk that gives me a dos prompt- I can see the files on both hard drives, including ntfs.sys, but when I try to copy the version from the Win XP CD to the c:\ drive or other hard drive for that matter, it says invalid directory! I can see the files, but can't do anything with them!

How do I repair the ntfs.sys?!? How can I get my PC to work? Please help!

I have a 300watt 12v 19A. It has a GeForce 7300GT Turbo Force Edition running off this power supply. It works fine.
My Question is can I run a GeForce 7600GT card.
Specs 350 watt minimum power supply
12v 18A.
Should I ignore the watts and go by the Amps?
I think I read somewhere the 7600GT only uses 36watts.

I have a computer with a Pentium 4 1.8 GHZ processor & 120GB hard drive. Today it acted as if it shut down but the green power light remained on. When I tried to turn it off by pressing the power button, it would not turn off. After unplugging it and then plugging it back in, it started normally and was fully functional for a few minutes before the same thing happened a second time.

What could be wrong with it and how much should I expect to pay to get it fixed?

This computer was a gift so I don't have any of the original cds that came with it to restore my sound that I mistakenly got rid of .
Whats my next course of action ? Is there a speciffic cd i should get . I tried everything from system restore to rebooting to trying to re download what it is I erased . Again I'm not great at computers so is there speciffic cd I can buy or get online , I have windows xp . anything of a free download would be a help since money is tight , but I need to make my two beautiful daughters happy since they play thier games online . You know like webkinz and noggin .
any help would be great !!!!

lattley my computer has been being a pain wont shut off right half the time among othere things what I need to find out how to fix is lattley I have tryed to log on to aim and yahoo messenger and keep getting a message stating saying that a riched20.dll file was not found try reinstalling and that should take care of it well I have done that to both aol and aim but it keeps coming up with that erroe even when I start the loading wizard to reinstail the programs I also get to same message when trying to foreward a email in out look express but it is a riched32.dll file what do I do to correct this. I have even tryed doing a system restore up to 2 months ago and nothing seams to work the system restore says there are no changes so I NEED HELP!!!!! my othere problem is I have a hp photosmart 7150 that will not print it seams like it takes for ever for the printer to get the info from the computter and when it does it will only print one pixel line like ever 10-15 mins so please help me

I was deleting alot of old components and programs from my computer and since I'm not the greatest at computers , I might have erased something I needed . When I finished , I noticed my sound was gone even though the speakers were clearly on ?

Ok, i have the boot floppy and the 98 CD. This computer has no cd-rom drive. how can i re-format this computer with no cd-rom drive? put everything on the cd on a floppy? wont fit though. Help?

Usually after inactivity but not always my hard drive just goes nuts doing whatever it does. I am not working with a lot of files and sometimes I don't do anything. I just starts whirring away for ten or more minutes at a time. I don't have any scheduled backups or scans or anything like that when it does this. It is very annoying because when it is doing this I can't do much else because it is so busy.

My old Dell Dimension desktop hasnt worked for a while. I push the start button, and nothing happens whatsoever. I want to transfer all my Itunes and videos to my new Gateway Laptop, but I dont know if I should go through with the expense of getting it to start long enough for a data transfer, or whether I should just give it up and toss the thing. I figure, either way I am screwed. I would prefer not to lose all my Itunes that I paid good money for.
