This computer was a gift so I don't have any of the original cds that came with it to restore my sound that I mistakenly got rid of .
Whats my next course of action ? Is there a speciffic cd i should get . I tried everything from system restore to rebooting to trying to re download what it is I erased . Again I'm not great at computers so is there speciffic cd I can buy or get online , I have windows xp . anything of a free download would be a help since money is tight , but I need to make my two beautiful daughters happy since they play thier games online . You know like webkinz and noggin .
any help would be great !!!!

I had the same problem, all you got to do is install audio drivers, you can download it anywhere. Try downloading Realtek thats what I did.

What did you delete? If you still have a sound card installed, you'll need tp make sure the driver is there too.

START> Right-click My Computer> Properties> Hardware tab> Device Manager> Sound, Video and Game Controller

Look for items with a yellow triangle with a "!" inside.

These items will need their drivers updated. Right-click and choose Properties for Troubleshooting and updates.

Also... Make sure your speakers are connected properly, power is on, volume is up. Check to be sure that master Volume controls are not MUTE.

START> All Programs> Accessories> Entertainment> Volume Control

Some problems are so obvious ... they're hard to see. Like looking at an elephant under a microscope.
