I have good quality speakers, but for some reason sound only comes out of the left speaker, in mono, no more stereo. It used to sound good but I don't know why it doesn't play stereo anymore. The speakers are fine because I tried them on my laptop, so it's not that I need new speakers.
Someone suggested a "sound card". Would that help? What is it?

yes, it sounds like you need a new sound card. A sound card is a piece of hardware that plugs into your pc on the back in a pci slot. Very easy to install.

A sound card is what makes the sound come out of the computer. There not really that expensive... They usually go in the PCI slot of your computer. A good one to buy would be anything from the brand 'Creative' in the soundblaster range.

Check your sound settings, make sure you're set for external stereo speakers.

The sound card goes in a slot inside of your pc if you have a desktop. Try changing your cables also.

It could be that the RCA jack on the sound card or motherboard went bad. Yeah, I'd check that for sure.

i think sound cards arent expensive...
or maybe you should check you computer settings first
before changing you sound card
maybe it just in the settings... ( go to the control panel and open the sound and audio devices and try to adjust the settings)

buy pci sound card, you just slide it in your pci slot on your motherboard
