I'm assuming you are using Windows. Go to My Computer, and right-click. Click on properties. You should see the information in one of the tabs.

Also, you can search the HP website for the computer that you bought.

BTW, all that is really important is the motherboard. If you are feeling brave enough you can open up your computer (really, it's not hard) and, making sure that you have touched a metal object just before doing so, take out your motherboard and check it's manufacturer and model number. Then go to the manufacturer's website, or Google it. You should find what types of RAM it can support.

Just FYI, RAM isn't usually referred to as a "RAM card." Just RAM. If you were talking about a video card, I would follow the same steps, except find what kind of expansion slots the motherboard has (PCI, PCI-Express, AGP, etc.) and then find a video card that is for that type of expansion slot.

Take out the ram in your HP and take it to the computer store. This way you'll get the best match for your rams.

go to www.crucial.com and click "scan my system." that will give you all of your system's stats as well as the type of RAM you will need, but i suggest buying their suggested RAM card(s) from another location such as www.newegg.com or www.tigerdirect.com. they're much cheaper there.
