Our router only supports WEP, and I heard that it is bad security, so should I just leave it unsecured and use MAC filtering? We aren't going to replace the wireless router, so thats not an option. Its a comcast netgear router. Any suggestions?

Is it easier for someone to moniter our network traffic if WEP is disabled, or is it just the same with WEP enabled? should i be worried about anything?

Will my internet go faster with WEP disabled by the way....Sorry for all the questions!

I am going to network 2 pc's in my house and ideally I would like to do this wirelessly. However, my friend said that this is no good as I like to play games online. Joint Operations and battle for middle earth.

Is an Ethernet connection better or should I go the wireless route?

For our small company, we're about to set up a server with Windows Server 2003. We have 4 client PCs that will be networked to the server. We want to use the server to 1) run our SQL-based accounting database software, 2) act as a file server for storing Excel, Word, etc files. Why is it better to set up a domain rather than a workgroup? What will a domain allow us to do that a workgroup wouldn't let us do?

Basically, I'd like to transfer certain files from my laptop (which runs windows XP home edition) to my desktop (which runs windows XP professional edition). They share a cable internet connection through a Linksys WRT54G router. Any ideas on the best way to get the best speed/reliability on the transfer without having to use P2P file sharing programs or any other virus-ridden corners of the internet?

I am connected to the internet with a DL524 modem and a router. My mother is connected via a wireless D-Link 122 adapter. My mother is unable to get a connection via the adapter. Can anybody help me work out what could be wrong with this adapter? I connect just fine at around 100mbps, but the lights on the adapter do not light up! It's very frustrating because we pay this money to connect to AT&T Yahoo, and she's not getting any connection! Hope someone can figure this out for us! We tried disconnecting the adapter and reconnecting it, but it still wont work. Thanks! :)
