By chaining i mean T1 router>Firewall>Switch>others

I want to be able to have the t1 router and firewall connect directly to the switch but I really don't know how to come about getting the clients to request everything through the firewall and then make the firewall hop to the t1 router.

I hope someone can help me. I have ADSL broadband which works perfectly when connectedf to my Desktop or Laptop via ethernet. However I have bought a new Belkin ADSL Wireless Modem. I connect my Desktop to my new modem via ethernet and hope to pick up the wireless signal via my built in card in my laptop. My desktop does not have a pci card. Do I need one for it? or will the connection via the ethernet be enough to connect to the internet or will I have to install a USB adapter also?
Also when I do this my laptop sees the network connects to it fine but cant display webpage.
I have disabled all my firewalls and virus stuff and checked my TCP/IP protocol is set to Obtain IP address automatically. Please help! Where am I going wrong???

I have a desktop and laptop. I want to access files on the desktop from the laptop and vice-versa. The desktop and laptop has wireless capability. I have purchased a wireless router.
I have conected the router to the desktop and ran network wizzard setting up workgroup, designating the sharing files. I have done the same on the laptop. Now when looking for workgroup on each of the computers, I get this message: (workgroup Name) not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network. What am I doing wrong?

we're using the whiteorange-orange-whiteblue-blue-whitegreen-green-whitebrown-brown arrangement. until we found out that it should be like this.. whiteorange-orange-whitegreen-blue-whiteblue-green-whitebrown-brown! although our arrangement works, what maybe the effect of this wrong arrangement? does it affect the download and upload speed of our internet connection? because we noticed that there is a big difference between our download(370kbps) and upload(124kbps) speed.

I just purchased a laptop and I want to use it wireless from time to time in free wireless internet locations, such as coffee shops, etc. My question is....do I need any special equipment to do that? I know for paid wireless you need a modem/router....but just wondering if anything extra is needed for the free wireless I mentioned.

Thank-you, Amber

I am looking for a method to connect to another computer remotely over a broadband connection for my consulting business so I can diagnose & correct problems without needing to be on-site. I have a few requirements:

1.) The method must be secure.
It can be secure either by a form of password, encryption, or by having the user remove the software from their computer when not in use.

2.) Interactivity.
I need to have full (temporary) admin rights to their computer or as close as to this as I can. It would be helpful if the user and I each had separate cursors we could use to make changes to the system, or we could take turns using the same cursor.

3.) Free or low cost licensing.
I would prefer free methods, but if I do need to purchase software to do this, I would look at licensing plans.

Please provide links to the software and/or methods of doing this. I would need Windows 2K, XP, and Media Center OS compatibilities.

I've wrongfully type the workgroup at my LAN at the office. How can i change the workgroup (since the workgroup was set in the middle of Windows XP installation process?). The result is i can't connect to the other computer at network connection, coz I'm working on different workgroup. I had to ask this here, cause there's no computer assistance or some kind of it right now. Thanks a lot
