I mean have the server running on one pc and use remote desktop connection in xp to view that desktop.

I don't think RDP will connect to a pc only running VNC. VNC can be downloaded for free, and you can download the 'viewer' to connect to a pc that is running VNC. Otherwise, on Windows XP or later, you should be able to enable RDP for connections.

Do you mean connect to the VNC software? Then no.

Do you mean connect to a PC running VNC? No reason why not unless you've configured them both to use the same ports. But you're not going to be using the VNC client software to make the connection.

k first no... u cant use ne thing to connect to a client because a client is the connecter

u connect to the server

theirs a couple cloned on sourceforge.net that will connect to normal VNC..i suggest using ultraVNC much better but the client and server are on realvnc.com....


u have to setup the server and then connect to it remotly via the client later. if u wana use windows client to connect to VNC server it wont happen has to be the original client or a clone of a open source sight or somthing, i dont even thing ultra vnc client will connect to realvncs server has to be ultra to ultra
