my windows device manager does not show my network adapters?

If they are not listed in your device manager, then most likely they were not installed properly. If you go to list and there is a plus sign next to network adapters, then click plus sign and it will show what is there. If not, try clicking "view" at top of page and then show hidden devices. Usually, you do not need to do this to see network adapters, but in your case, you never know. In any case, might try re-installing the adapter. Say if it's a card you insert, turn off machine, take out put back into another slot and see what happens.
