Your laptop is probably overheating when you're gaming. Make sure that it's on a solid surface, not on your lap or on any soft surface such as a bed or upholstered furniture, and has plenty of cooling air.

Most laptops have a cooling fan that will switch on when the CPU usage is high. Make sure that it's still working properly.
