The only reason to ask this question is to answer a homework assignment. Tell whatever teacher is teaching this class that he/she is asking absolutely pointless questions.
DOS is dead as an operating system. If you need a DOS boot disk for some arcane reason, you just "create boot disk". In the real world, you'll never need to know whether it's io.sys or msdos.sys or config.sys to go with command.com.
As a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer with seven years as a college professor, I'm telling you that your teacher is wasting your time. He/She is teaching information that is at least a decade past obsolete, asking you to memorize information you'll never use and never remember.
Find a school that teaches you something relevant.

Do you mean like command.com, config.sys and autoexec.bat?
For the most part that is all you would need on a boot floppy, although I like to have more.

Uhh... I already told you once:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=At8aETBWrDj.qz4MB_6mXUTsy6IX?qid=20070109133734AAiC0IR
To be exact:
POST-->OS-->MBR-->Partition Table-->DOS Boot Record (IO.SYS)-->MSDOS.SYS-->COMMAND.COM.
So...
IO.sys
msdos.sys
command.com
