all 802.11x devices use CSMA/CA. this is why it is not a true bi-directional protocol...

what are you saying? how does it transmit? is uses a wireless radio which it sends packets of data over. if you dont have those packets encrypeted and say you doing banking online. someone in range of the router (a neighbor) can see everything in each packet (they can get credit cards etc.) so if you are going to buy one put wpa/psk tkip protection on it
