install parental controls software on his computer.it will give you control of the time of the day he could use & the duration.you can also specify the websites that he can access.i'm pretty sure this is offered free for at&t subscribers but if you do not have at&t for isp....try yahoo premium services.toll free #1-877-4697847.

You can do two things that are the most convient. First set up a wireless network and at night you can access the router and block his computer. This will disable his Internet. Make sure you set a password on the router. Some routers even have parental controls to control what he is viewing. The next things is to get a program like PC Anywhere. With this you can gain access to his computer and shut it down, but he may shut it back on so this may be a back and forth struggle. The first suggestion is most likely the best and hassle free. Good luck

I have car, it makes a funny sound, tell me what is wrong with it? What I am trying to say is this is how you are asking the question.
Assuming the facts that you have a Windows XP machine and that all. You should make your son's computer a user status (in XP you can even control to some extent where he goes). Then you can control how long he is going to stay up (This would keep him from unplugging and going else where). Second get a book on Windows XP (put it someplace he won't find it) find how to administrate your system.

First of all you would be a real mean nee if you did that. But to be serious I don't know what to do to where you can turn his computer off but I do know that you can get a Server and control his access to ALL his files.
And Servers are not that much expensive if you just want home management. You can just go to circuit city or go to best buy for the best buy.

If you are concerned about him getting into trouble late night, you should remove the keyboard or power cord. If you are trying to save
electricity just leave the computer on. you won't save that much power anyways.

Kids shouldn't have a full access computer in their room.
They should have limited access, as for shutting down, don't play games with him. You are the boss.
Walk in and shut it down, if he starts it up again, take the keyboard and mouse to your room.

REMOTE DESKTOP!!!! The latest Windows updates include Remote Desktop. Once you set it on both computers, you can remote desktop to his computer and shut it down that way.
