Have bought a Belkin G + wireless modem router (802.11g) and I need to find out if it will be compatable with Orange starter broadband, How and where can I find this information?

No, just check the connection type - some are cable, others DSL

Yeah it will work you just need to put your broadband username and password in to the router.

Most routers work for broadband supplied over a BT landline. If it was cable that would be a diferent story as some use fibre optic connections

No not normally. BT lock some Voyagers so they can only be used with their service.
