I have two computers with wireless connections that are connecting to one wireless router. When only one is turned on they work fine but when both systems are on and attempting to communicate with the router the connection is very poor and is dropped repeatedly. Both computers pretty much grind to a halt. I can only work if I turn off WiFi on one system. I've actually had to restart my router a couple of times to bring the network back up. Any ideas for a fix? Thanks

As I understand from Tanenbaum's Computer Networking books, the unit exchange at the Data Link level is called a frame and the unit exchange at the network level is called a packet. What I don't really understand is do frames encapsulate packets or vice versa. Why?
Any help appreciated

What we'd like to do is have a couple Cisco switches, wireless access points and some other equipment, just enough to put the candidates in a position where they will need to resolve an issue, or just configure the equipment. We'd like to know what would be a good scenario to present to them. We'd like to keep the equipment needed to maybe 4 devices, at most. We'd like to have them setup VLANs and such. We've just never had to go through this and don't want to hire someone who looks good on paper, talks a good game and then we're stuck with a snake oil merchant who can't deliver the goods. Thank you all!

I followed the step by step instructions for the router, and it seemed to connect fine.

Now today I booted up my PC and no connection. on this PC or on the PC downstairs.

I have tried disconnecting the router and resetting it, but it still refuses to work, the only way I can access the internet is if I directly connect this PC to my cable modem, but this means that the other PC downstairs cannot connect as there's no wireless connection for it to connect to.
