Computer Networking - January 2007

Hi there.

I recently set up a wireless network in my home and wanted to be able to share the printer i have with all of the computers on the network.

How can i do this??

i just got a new laptop... and i bought a new set of altec lansing speakers to go with it.. the only thing is... well my wireless router interferes with them... how can i stop it?

my computer at the bottom right hand corner of my computer it shows a picture of my computer. It says local area 2 little or no connectivity.Does anybody know what this means can anyone help me please thankyou.I'm on cable an modem ntl i think it is'nt my computer i think its the ntl thats wrong it just need's a ip address or looking for network. hope some one knows please thanx again hope to hear soon

I live in an apartment with free internet access. We're given an Ethernet connection in each bedroom. Each network jack is given a limited amount of bandwidth, I believe it caps at around 100 kB/s, which is terrible for me. Since I use bittorrent, which makes multiple connections at once, I could really use some type of device or software that splits the bandwidth between the two LAN connections.

I have 2 computers connected with the ethernet cable. on first computer I have connected to the Internet and on second one I take Internet via ethernet cable. I am using win XP professional. I am getting an IPaddress as 169.254.229.21. Whenever I am trying to renew the IPaddress I get a message as Unable to contact the DHCP server. I reinstalled Win XP professional. I stopped and started the DHCP client and tried to reinstall the ethernet card drivers. I am using Intex card. I changed the PCI slot of ethernet card but nothing changed. I am able to access the files of first computer from the second one, but not able to access Broadband. Kindly help me.

I about 5 people on 5 computers running wireless to a router. I want to have all of those people to take their computers and access this external hardrive to back up their files when they want. How can I do this???

My laptop tells me that it's connected and the signal is strong, but I can't bring up any web pages.

I checked my router. Power is on, all cables are snugly connected. I can't figure it out. =....(

There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with my laptop's internet settings. I live in a densely-populated neighborhood with other unsecured wireless networks within range, and I'm able to browse the internet by piggybacking on those.

But naturally, I want to use my own router, not my neighbor's.

Anybody have any idea what might be the problem?

We have a 2000 server and all the clients has been connected to domain name called INCEDO123.COM, Except One system unfortunetly, our system administrator has left the company how to connect to that INCEDO123.COM? If I connected that INCEDO123.COM then I got a replay as "THE FOLLOWING ERROR OCCURED VALIDATING THE NAME "INCEDO123.COM". The following domain doesn't or could not be contacted. How to overcome it?

Is it possible to connect (dial up) 2 computers to the internet using only 1 phone?
How could that work?
Will the connection speed get slower?

i have an internet account on my p.c. running on windows 98.
just recently bought a laptop and a lynksis wifi router to use the internet on that.
i have taken the ethernet "out" from my pc *(which already has the internet connection- the isp has some sort of dialer) and put it into the routher.
i intend to use the net from my laptop through the router which will recieve the connection from the p.c which has the connection. and broadcast it so i can use it on the laptop.

it dosent seem to work.

if anu one has tried this and is successful please guide me.

Is it possible to get a wireless conection on my laptop without using my main phone line as a gateway to connect. I have tried to connect using an ADSL router and it did not work. I am also considering a mobile phone with internet access now but would the service be as good?
