the easierst way would be infrared, just look into your "help" section even I understood how to do it then ;)

otherwise go to your local computer store and get a cable (eg USB) connect both computers they will recognize each other and then you can transfer the data

if you want to connect it with a usb cable there is a program called pc-ling....it connects thru the usb ports it (the cable) is called usb bridge cable and what it does is inter link the desk top to your desktop and you can view both computers hard drives at the same time and transfer files....without having to configure a network connection thru network places...hopefully this helps good luck.... you can get a usb bridge cable at a computer store...I think it is Belkin that put's it out...all the software and instruction are pretty easy to use and understand.....you can also try walmart....this way is easy for the average user with out having to do all kinds of exotic configurations and by high $$$ cables like cat5

How huge are the files? The simplest thing to do would be to copy the files on your laptop to a USB drive, then plug the drive into your desktop and copy them over to its hard drive. This option has the added bonus of making the files portable so you can access them from any computer with a USB port. I have a USB drive I got at Walmart that uses SD (Secure Digital) cards - so I can use it for data, music, and it will also work with the SD card used by my digital camera. Get at least a 2Gig USB drive or SD card with a USB reader.

It is easier to do it through a network cable / ethernet card.

Also its faster!

Just bring your laptop into the store and tell them you need a short cable for transferring files to your PC. They should sell you an ethernet cross cable....then plug that into your PC (assuming you have an ethernet card in it) if not then ethernet cards are cheap....about 10 dollars.

Good luck!
