i.e. I am in the process of starting a radio station up via SHOUTcast from home, and am wondering if it is going to be possible for the rest of the DJs to connect to a main server when it is their time to broadcast, rather than having to come over my place to broadcast there show all the time?

Anyone know if there is a Group Policy .adm file that can be used to set the power settings on all domain workstations. I want to control how these are set to ensure our power saving standards are maintained

Thanks

I live in Richfield, and I LOVED Time Warner. Now, Comcast bought them out, and I really hate them. Is there another option for internet besides dial-up?

Last night I reinstalled XP onto a freshly (and incorrectly) formatted computer. Everything appears to be working okay, the only trouble is that when I plug in the Wireless USB Adapter the computer doesn't recognize that I'm plugging anything into the USB. I checked under Network Connections in the Control Panel, and normally there are a couple things there that say LAN and Wireless connections...now it's completely blank.
I called the helpdesk for the Wireless adapter, but all their "help" involves right-clicking on the wireless tab within that page, and for me there's nothing there to click.
If anyone could offer some helpful advice, I would sincerely appreciate it!

I am trying to get online with a PC and all components are working but I am getting IP address errors. There is another computer in the house that is online and functioning normally. Is this a problem with my machine?

I apologize if this question seems vague- I hope that I'm asking the right thing!

I am trying to connect my Dell laptop to the wireless D-Link Router used throughout our home. The network is 64-bit encrypted and I have the full WEP Key and SSID. When I input all the required information into the Linksys Profile Information, it still will not connect to the net. I receive the following message on the "Link Information" page: "You are connected to the access point, but the Internet cannot be found." However, I can connect just fine using my brothers laptop which has internal Wi-Fi that was configure to the same router, so I know the router is working correctly.
If my computer is connecting the router, then why wont is access the net?

Can browse web sites, but canot log on to yahoo messenger, msn or download updates for anti virus. I do not have any firewall on. It is not the dsl modem or router as i have another computer connected and it works just fine. Does anyone know if there is a configuration in windows that may be causing this. I am running Windows XP Pro which was an upgraded version to Home. prior to this upgrade, things worked just fine. This may just be a coincidence. Another possibility, my sound card in the mother board is not working. I am using a usb sound card to work around this. Not sure if this is a possibility. I have had a few times lately, my computer has shut down and the message was that this was a thermal event. So perhaps someting bad is going on under the hood. Anyway, does anyone have any idea or experience to share. Thanks

When I am working offline or have my desktop open, my computer keeps connecting automatically and I have to continuously click the "cancel" button. While away from my computer, I come back to find that it has connected by itself. This ties up my phone line. What settings do I need in order to stop this and connect manually when I want to go online? I am on dial up.

This is driving me nuts, so please help.

Hello,
I'm trying to setup my wireless network after moving and I'm having trouble. In the past I've never had trouble before but am now for some reason. After connecting the phone wall jack to the DSL modem, the wireless router to the DSL modem, and the wireless router to the PC. I try to access the linksys config page, but it just times out and I can't connect to it. I thought it was the firewall possibly so I turn them off but it still does it. I'm I missing something? I would appreciate any help that you can offer.

Thanks,
Eric.

I am having problems determining the number of bits needed for a custom subnet mask and the number of usable networks. If anyone has a simpler way of determining this, please let me know.

Also, like a previous poster did, please do not simply refer me to a website. None have helped so far. I was really hoping for dialogue with a human being this time. Thanks.

The reason why I cannot just replace my wired router with my wireless router is that my dad has very strong security concerns. I am trying to connect my Netgear wpn824 wireless router with a d-link wired router. If I use the CD that came with the router, I am just told to replace the wired router with the wireless router and, as mentioned earlier, that is not an option. I have been searching Netgear's website and other websites for instructions on how to set up such a configuration and I can't find any instructions. Is this configuration possible?
