My 2001 Automatic Cavalier has been surging in and out lately. It like cuts out when you accelerate (most of time while trying to shift gears). Sometimes the "track off" light shows up while cutting out...I'm afraid it's the tranny, but the car only has 46200 miles on it, What do you guys think?

My boyfriend got my 97 eclipse stuck in our driveway. He hooked a chain up to something underneath and pulled it out (with a couple of big yanks with the jeep). The next day I drove it to work and couldn't go past idling without it wanting to go off the road. I thought it might have been the ice on the road but I have NEVER had this kind of trouble before. I was driving home and a snow plow stopped me and said my wheel was dog legged bad. I got the car home, finally, and noticed the passenger rear tire was pointing out a little. He has now jacked the rearend up and saw that a bar is bent. Does anyone have any info on what the part might be and the extent of fixing it? He wants to take a big sledge hammer to it to fix it. I don't want to go that route. Any info would help. Thanks.

My boyfriend backed in to a bush yesterday and it tore my mirror almost completely off. It's just dangling by wires. I've tried gorilla glue, super glue and I'm trying another kind right now. Nothing is working. I can't stand out there and hold the mirror up for hours so the glue can set so I've been using duct tape. Any other ideas on how to fix it? I don't want to take it to a body shop so if there's any other way that would be great. Thanks!

For a small gas engine, aside from replacing it, can resistance tell you if its any good, for example?

I was thinking of connecting a second battery in parrallel and putting it in my saddle bag. Do you think this will work? Will both batteries end up dead? I will probably keep the vest on most of the time. The grips I will cycle on and off during the ride. Is there any type of switch/device I can install between the two batteries that will prevent the main battery from fully discharging? The motorcycle only has electric start. There is no kick starter.

Vehicle is 1990 Buick Century (Limited), 3.3L V6.
The cigarette lighter does NOT work anymore. Fuse is fine, wires are intact.
I've removed the tray/lightbulb/groundwire (?) from the dash, but I CANNOT get the element (cylinder shaped device that 'heats' up the lighter) out of the tray. Short of pliers & a hammer, I've gotten nowhere. Really don't want to hit a junkyard while it's still winter. But I REALLY need the lighter socket to power my XM Radio. Please don't give me alternate options/sources (i.e. "cut this wire & that wire to make it work") for powering the XM Reciever. Thanks. Will post additonal details if I've left anything out.

I just had one of my Honda Accords transported here to NY and I didn't use it until tonight. I noticed that when the car stops completely, the speedometer reads 10mph. The only time it'll go back to 0 is when I turn the car off. Besides that, just turning it back on will cause it to jump back to 10mph.
What would cause this?? Is it easy, quick, and cheap to repair?
