I have a 2002 Chevy Avalanche and I got caught in a bunch of snow the other day when I got stuck and had to fight my way out of it with the four wheel drive. All of the sudden since then my power steering is extremly hard to use. Could the snow have gotten caught up in there and caused the fluid to freeze? The weather has not got warm enough yet for me to find out.

The car is of an auto-transmission type. The noises sound like groong, groong,... and then disappear when the car takes off in normal cruising.

Hiya People,
I am in the process of buying Volkswagen Golf Driver 1.6 1990 (VERY CHEAP PRICE),
I mainly want this as a project car, so if i end up with no heater no problem.
also if it makes a differance I live in the UK.
Ok, my problem is that the heater does not work, and there is water leaking in the passanger footwell.
My big quest is that could this cause the car to overheat or blow the head gasket?
Does the heater core or matix (I think they are the same) use the same water that is used for the engine (coolant).
By what i have gathered is that they use the same water, meaning the coolant level will go down and cause the car to overheat thus blowing the head gasket - AM I RIGHT?
Is the heater matrix and core the same?
How hard to change (as in diy)?
REMEMBER CAR IS FOR IS A PROJECT CAR FOR ME TO FIX UP.
I Thank you all in advance for answering my question, thank you!

When I turn my lights on the front ones work fine but the rear ones don't work at all. The brake and reverse lights work fine.

Getting the "Presidential" Maaco-ver for my 2001 Black Impala which has some spots down to primer and several scratches in the plastics. Anyone know whether they sand the car before painting, or should I take care of these before I take it in?

My transmission has not been flushed for a long time, and my car has 133000 miles on it. I called around to some places, and two separate people told me that parts will swell inside my transmission and may ruin it. They told me just to drive it into the ground. This seems bizzare to me.

Are the right? My transmission gets hot and doesn't want to shift. Another person told me that I probably have a plugged filter and need to flush the system and change the filter.

Which advise should I take?

I have the oil pan off already, along with the the manifold pipes. Since I have the oil pan off, I'd like to replace the rear seal. My Haynes manual is vague on the process, and I'm not sure what I'm looking for in the 'installed' configuration. Confused! Any pictures or more detailed instructions?

When I turn on my heater, I smell antifreeze coming from the air vents. Also all my windows are all fogged up and antifreeze is coming from my defrost vent splattering onto my windsheild inside. I'm thinking that my heatercore is going bad.

I need to know the a part on my car. I have been looking for online repair manuals but have had no luck. I need the schematics of the engine or if someone could tell me the part it would be great. The part is a rubber piece connected to what I think is the gas line, seeing as this part has a hole in it and is spraying gas. It is located near the headers and is triangular in shape connected to the metal gas line. Does anybody know what this part is or where I can find the engine schematics online to identify this part? Your help would be greatly apprieciated.

Neither the horn or cruise control work.

My Caravan is a V6 3.3. Checked electrical systems. No bad fuses, relays work (checked them on other devices). Problem appears to be in the steering column. Anyone know what I should check when I open it up?
