One time, at 4am (with sub-zero temperatures), the horn stuck on while the lights flashed. It stopped when I started the car and backed up. It did it a second time an hour later so I started it, backed up until it stopped, and then pulled the horn fuse.

Other times the key chain remote will not respond for a few minutes and I'll have to lock and unlock it with the key.

Sometimes the horn will just beep or the "door-ajar" alarm will ding when I try to unlock with the remote.

A couple of times, the automatic door-lock locked at an abnormal time instead of about 5mph after getting in and driving away.

Also, the cruise control indicator light used to not come on, but now it does.

I have tried a new wiper motor. it still did not stop. It seems to delay sometimes but still keeps running. So I unplugged it temporarily till I find out what is the cause. Is it a relay? if so where is it located. It has a combination lever which controls the wiper, the blinkers, mister and cruise control. Serious answers only, Please.

I just purchased this truck, and I suspect there is a sticky intake valve, but I changed the oil, and ran a tank of gas with fuel-injector cleaner through the system with no noticable effect. It is much louder when the engine is cold, but becomes almost unnoticable after the engine warms up, unless accelerating very hard.

My truck just stopped running at an intersection after driving for about 1 hour, would not restart and acts like it isn"t getting any gas,had to have it towed to garage . Tow truck operator says it sounds like fuel pump might have gone out, have been told fuel pump may be in gas tank.If so have been told to expect high cost to fix,Any responses?

I looked underneath the hood of my car, and wondered if I could go to the car wash, and wash underneath the hood with a pressure washer? I've seen this done before, but I think there are certain area's you're supposed to watch out for such as the engine or something like that. Does anyone have any experience with this?

While driving today in the night, I noticed that the light on the LED
of the digital clock and the light of the LCD panel of the Car radio
were very dim (almost no light). The car head lights were fine. Is this
the beginning of a battery Problem or is this the beginning of an Alternator problem ? I haven't seen that scary red light yet on the
dash board. Please help ........

I have a 94 4-runner that is on it's last legs. I have replaced clutches before and have noticed that most all of the wear is on the clutch disc itself, usually the pressure plate looks fine and the flywheel can be resurfaced if it's needed. A new clutch disc will only cost $50, where a clutch kit would cost $200. The clutch is currently only starting to slip. I am only hoping to get another 15-20 thousand miles out of this vehicle. Have you ever heard of anyone only replacing the clutch disc. I know the answer most people would give is to say that if you take the time to drop the transmission replacing all the parts within a clutch kit will benefit you in the long run. The problem is I don't think this vehicle has a long run ahead of it and I don't want to put any more money into it than I have to. What do you think?

I have heard several different opinions on the use of these type of air filters. Some say use them, some say don't. I had one in my previous car for 64,000 miles and had no trouble.
If you say don't use it, they let in too much dirt, please site some information backing this up.

Thanks

hi all, i'm hoping someone has an idea of what is causing a very annoying noise on my car. First off i have a protege 2.0 with a mazdaspeed( oval tip) exhaust. When my engine hits 3000-3500 there is a very loud droning that is making it annoying to drive the car. I've had noises like this before ( last winter) and i thought it was the muffler so i took it off, the noise was still there but not as bad. I was reading through a bunch of posts last night and i was wondering if it could be a heatshield issue or something with the cat. I also have a rattle at startup which also made me think of something heatshield related(since it sounds like really thin metal rattling). has anyone had any issues like this on their car? i'll probably switch back to my stock muffler but that won't really solve the problem. I was thinking that in the spring i would try taking off all the heatshields and see if that helps. any help would be appreciated :)
