White smoke can by caused by water condensation. This should burn off when cat gets hot. normal.
White smoke with sweet smell. Could be internal combustion camber coolant leak. Best bet is to keep eye on coolant temp and coolant level. If u suspect internal leak. Take it to a qualified tech. Have them perform either a leak down or chem test. The chem test will let them know if u have hydrocarbon in your cooling system. That could be serious.
Blue smoke is caused by burning oil. Bad rings, hard valve seals ect.
Black smoke. Is a rich condition.

Keep a close eye on the radiator coolant level. Many times, white smoke is a result of coolant leaking into the cylinders.

Yes, I'm a woman; but you could have or about to have a blown head gasket. The gasket can be either from the oil pan or the motor; you might want to get your truck checked by a specialist.

it is a very big problem but not serious unless it gets heavy
if it is a diesel it could be a turbo or a oil ring in the engine
if it is a gas burner it is a oil ring or it could possibly be getting water in the engine

White smoke would indicate you are burning oil. Most often this is caused by worn piston rings.

check youre oil in the morning and if you notice you got to add oil every time you check it that means youre motor is going bad

Year, make,model, and miles?please. if you look for a descent diagnosis.
if it's cold out it's just condensation.
if it's warm could be the relative humidity at start-up.
high mileage means vapor at normal op temp.
is it f/i or carb.

could be. is there condensation dripping out too? if there is, it could be cracked head. could also be the rings. pour in some of that "no smoke" product. if that doesn't help, then theres probably something more serious wrong.
