ok, i've been told I can't drive into Big Bear unless my car has chains. My jeep is a 4x and I just found out the tires are too large to put chains on. Does anyone know what you have to do in this situation? Am I going to have to get smaller tires?! :(

My 2.8 chevy's temp gauge goes up to around 230 sometimes, after it's been run for a while. If at idle, I rev the engine a little, it will come down below 200 degrees.The truck sat for a couple of years
and I just replaced the head gaskets. It has only been driven about 100 miles since.Other than that is seems ok and the oil is clear.

From cold my 2001 9-5se starts first time every time. Once engine warms it starts jerking occassionally sometimes cuts out if idling and will not restart via ignition key. Car will at all times bump off. Any ideas maybe coil or fuel pump?

hi i have a 96 chevy corsica with the 3.1 V6 engine. yesterday it stalled on me and wouldn't start back up. It finally started back up after i pushed the gas pedal down as i started it. Now everytime i start it I have to do this What do yu think is wrong?

I've had the battery and alternator checked and they are fine. Also changed battery terminals and posts are clean. I've had 2 recalls on the ignition switch and let the dealer fix it both times. I'm thinking starter but I hope it's something simple. It's very intermitent but really annoys me. Any solutions?

I asked this question previously, and had 3 answers, none helped, but thanks, This car was running fine, a 1986 Mazda 626, with electronic ignition, then the distributor cap kept coming off, clips are ok, it would stay on at low revs, but come off on pickup. A new Ditsributor cap and Rotor button was fitted, no difference. The shaft did have end float, and slight wear in the bushes, i hented around, and located another complete distributor, with no end float, or bush wear, fitted this distributor, it ran fine for 2 days, then the original problem, returned, cannot work this problem out, any suggestions greatly appreciated

I am wondering if my car key has a chip in it that causes is not to start sometimes. I was just wondering because the car does have some kind of security system with a piece that plugs and unplugs and when it is unplugged, the car won't start. This is located on the left side under the stearing wheel near the pedels. Would a chip in the key cause my car to not start at times? A bad part?

Had two wires disconected from cap and rotor and attempteted to start. Realized and reconnected wires. Turns over but will not start. Plenty of turn over. Ideas????

We have changed the fuel pump four times this year. It does not hold it's 60 PSI, it slowly drops. The relay was changed with the last fuel pump change. It ran OK for a while. Now when the car is cold the fuel pump will not work (no sound at all). Once it warms up the car will start but slowly looses its psi. The fuel pressure regulator was also changed. It slowed down how much pressure was lost but did not stop the loss of psi. Where do I go from here. Any solutions or suggestions? I also have a problem with coolant loss. I don't know if it is somehow related or doesn't matter at all. The leak is slow and I have not been able to find out where it is. I have to put more water/coolant in every couple of weeks other wise I have no heat. Any in put would be appreciated. Thank you, Tina

I just got my car today and no mechanic is open the time I got it today and i dont think any will be open in the next few days. So I thought about asking some questions on yahoo.

My car:
When I press gas when moving it does a loud noise. not bad noise. But when I realse the gas it does some wired noise sounds like: Tessss.

Is that a problem?

Also when I open the hood I see the engine shaking too much. is that a problem?
