I was driving the other day and I went over a pretty hard bump in the road I noticed that my rpm gauge went down past 0 I tried to give the car some gas and it shut down...tried to start it again and it would never catch. I've been told by several ppl that it sounds like either it didnt have any gas or that my fuel line broke when I went over the bump...I had one guy look at it and he says that its not getting any gas another guy said that I should have some type of reset switch to fix this problem....if I do in fact have one of these where is it located cause the other guy didnt find anything in my trunk. and where exactly is the fuel pump/injector located in my car cause the other guy couldnt find it.

I have low oil pressure when the engine is at normal operating temperature while the RPMs are under 1000. The oil pressure drops to 6-7PSI when the engine is at 800RPM. I also have a "low oil" light randomly. Most of the time the car will show it when I first start it, but then sometimes when I turn it off and on again it goes away. Sometimes I have to wait until the car is warm, then restart it. Sometimes it doesn't go away at all.

Is there any way that these two problems could be related?

And yes, the oil level is actually fine - but for some reason the sensor doesn't think so. I'm running 5w40 oil, maybe I should change to a heavier oil?

It's been raining pretty much nonstop for the last 48 hours and I found a puddle about 2" deep on the floor of the passenger side of the car this morning. I keep my car outside. It's a '93 Buick Skylark. There was no puddle last night when I got home from work. I have had the car only 2 weeks now. I have never seen it do this before.

Essentially I've been shopping around for new tires. I went to sears. They sell a Falken tire for 62 per tire. I don't know much about Falken. However when you do the mount and balance it comes around to $333. Mr. Tire seems to have better deals. They don't charge for balance, mount, waste disposal fee and valve stems. But they sell the following tires. Runway Tires (never heard this name), Kelly tires, Bridgestone, Continental. They have a deal on Yokohama where when you buy 3 you get 1 free which would be cheaper then the sears falken tire deal and I beleve yokohama is a better tire right???? I essentially am looking for a tire that last the longest and has low noise nothing speical. I'm tight on money....

I bought 4 new tires in Oct. 2005. The place that I bought them from installed them and did the wheel alignment. I have had them rotated twice since then but my husband thinks they are worn more than they should be. The warranty states that the tread life is usable tread depth is the original tread depth minus 2/32nds of an inch. How in the world do I figure out what this means and if my tires are truly worn? Please don't say to take it back there because of course the tire place is going to say it's not. I need to know how to figure this out myself.

I have an1985 Chevy pickup, it has the 8 foot bed. I took the engine and transmission out of my ElCamino and put them in the pickup. The tranny from the ElCamino has a short tail piece. I had to have a new drive shaft made, they used all new tubing and put in both new U-joints, the new shaft is 6 inches longer. It was also balanced. I think they did a good job on it, they specialize in this sort of thing. I put a new seal in the tail piece and after a few miles it starts to leak. The last time I think it only lasted 100 miles. I thought because of the extra lenght I need two shafts with a carrier bearing in the middle. Any Ideas on why you think it may start to leak so soon????? I buy my seals at NAPA, I think it says Chicago seal on them, Chicago something anyway.

My husband has an older car he just loves but I swear we are constantly fixing it. Monday is started stalling while in idle and now it won't start at all. Any thought on what it could be and how much it would be to fix? I am trying to figure out if I should have it looked at or just ditch the car all together. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Very infrequently my Buick will not start. Sometimes it will go for a month or more and start just fine. Then, for no reason, it will not start. I wait for 20 minutes or so and it will start again. I have taken it to the dealer and one time thay kept it for a week but it wouldn't fail to start while they had it and the computer showed no errors. Help!

There is anywhere from one to three inches of water on the floors (front & Rear), the windows stays fogged up in rainey weather. Water does not come in when the car is moving, just when it is sitting still. The car is a 1999 Dodge.

I pressed on the brake pedal and it had pressure like it should but then I noticed it started to have less and less pressure as I kept my foot on the brake. What could be wrong with the system or brake. Oh one other thing, I checked the brake fluid and it's full!

O.K. heres the deal, the alternator is charging, sometimes. The vehicle belongs to a friend from church and I have volunteered to fix the problem. The information they are giving me is this, On long distance drives, the battery light will come on, after a period of constant drive time when the vehicle is at normal running temp, the lights will dim, and once in a while the vehicle will completly shut down. At that time they just restart it and continue their journey. The battery voltage is at 12.97 volts, and when running it is at 14.95 to 15.00 volts. For any of you that has replaced an alternator on one of these gems, it does'nt look like it is going to be a whole lot of fun. I'm going to take a little spin down the road and see if I can verify what they tell me is happening and then when the problem starts I'll recheck the output and see what I can determine at that point. Any other ideas will be helpful. THANKS

Can a gasoline vehicle be converted over to natural gas, ethanol, or propane? Is it costly to do this? And where can I go to get it done? Is there a kit I can buy? What type of shop does this kind of work?
