I have a 92 4.0L Wrangler, has had a oil pump replaced a few months ago. It has 140K miles. The problem is this.. Sometimes (can go a whole day of driving without this happening at times) The oil pressure will drop to 0. At this time a lifter gets real noisey and a rod rap can be heard if you rev it. It stays at zero until I shut the motor off and restart. Every time I resart it goes back up, even after 1 second of off/on cycle. I am losing oil pressure and it doesn't come back until I shut down and restart, strange. I have the oil pan off and oil pump out, all looks like new still.

As I said, It has gone a full day at 40psi no problem and then some days it can do this zero drop 2 times within 5 minutes.

Temperature, driving conditions angle, nothing seems to change its habits.

I am thinking maybe the oil pressure relief valve? Maybe the oil filter (new by the way) There must be something doing this!!??? Help please.

I have a 2000 minivan and the tires have never been replaced. i have a hole in one of them now and they said they could not patch it because it was too close to the edge, but my husband wants to take it to someone else to see if they will patch it now, he doesn't want to buy new tires. Is there a mileage that they need to be replaced by. the tread is okay on them i guess. I just want to be safe on the winter roads with three kids..

It feels like I am pushing against a brick when I try to accelerate in my car. It feels this way in drive and neutral (auto transmission) so I don't think it's the tranny.

I love my old 1976 Pontiac Grand Prix, so I've kept it for decades. I still want to fix this car up, paint it, and drive it more, but the gas mileage is becoming expensive for my wallet (15 mpg highway - 8 mpg city). Any ideas? This is a 400 cubic inch V8 that will RUN, but I try to feather every move, and still get the horrible 8 mpg in town. The spark plugs are one step hotter than normal, but they are still turn black with carbon. This means running rich, doesn't it? But, how do you fix running rich? cal

i took it to the dealership to get all this work done. they say they pressure checked the car for leaks so the head gasket wasn"t leaking the car was fine for a month and didn't overheat then white smoke from tail pipe next day the car overheated again. if the head gasket wasnt leaking then, then how did it blow without overheating again? did the dealership possibly do something wrong?

Fuel pump 7psi, good flow.
Relay changed (was good too)
Fuse good (tested)
Fuel filter was dirty (changed)
Full tank of gas
Starts every time runs two seconds, dies, THEN relay clicks off.
EGR not stuck.
Engine cold.

I've noticed, if I play with the throttle, I can keep it running.
TBI SEEMS to be delivering poor gas flow. When I play with the throttle, the pulses get stronger.

When it does die, the TBI delivers significant fuel just after it dies by the looks of it. Just not while running.
IDEAS?
Also, there is a device screwed into the rear left side of the TBI with a 4 wire connector. I disconnected that just for the hell of it, and it still did the EXACT same thing.

What was that I unplugged, and how often do they go out?

ANY help would be appreciated. Last time I had many good answers, and could only pick one as best answer. I wanted to pick four of them. Dodgeman, crud.....I can't think of the other ones. Sorry. I'll add to this as soon as I figure it out.

I just recently purchased a 1991 Toyota Camry. I am wondering if I should leave the button on or off for normal driving. Your feedback is appreciated, thanks.
