My daughter was in a minor accident in which the front of her 2000 Saturn was struck by the rear end of a Jeep. Very little damage to the Jeep. Does it seem likely that her frame was bent or is the body shop just trying to take advantage of her. The car is still driveable and only pulls a little to the right-which could be a sign of needing alignment as well as a bent frame. Correct?

I have a 93 Chevy Suburban 4x4 Extened Cab k1500. It started out with a clicking noise from the front drivers side. So I jacked it up on that side to see what the problem was. I pulled on the wheel and it gave me a lot of play. I took it to Midas and they said it was my Power Steering gearbox that was making that noise. (Part was $1100 from them I got it from Autozone for $180 and replaced myself) But I still heard that clicking noise. So I took it to a little mom and pop brake place down the street. Come to find out that my front shocks were gone. Replaced shocks and clicking noise went away. But I still have play in the wheel when I jack them up!

But a new problem came up?

After replacing the gearbox every so often when I hit a pothole to hard the front end would shake and the vibration could be felt in the steering wheel.

Anyone know what the problem could be? This only happens when I hit a bump or pothole to hard.

Should I have replaced t

Can a head gasket be blown or a head cracked even when the truck runs great, has great power, doesn't use coolant, and passes cylinder pressure and coolant pressure tests?
Trying to figure out my newly purchased 96 Yukon. I know the previous owners of this truck and know the history on it. For the past year, it's been having a problem starting when cold. It is NOT the typical fuel pump or regulator or ACT sensor issue, because the problem is the way in which the truck CRANKS when cold. When it's cold, it cranks fast for maybe one revolution, then cranks really slow (too slow to start sometimes), almost like something is binding up or the starter is failing. The starter has been changed twice since this problem presented itself about one year ago. The battery has also been changed. The previous owners continued to drive the truck every day like this.

recently i was at a friend's house who's car had trouble starting because of a low battery. When giving him a jump he asked me to hit the gas. Does that have any effect? I can rationalize why it would. Yet i see them do the same on the dodge commercial.

My car is running in 3 cylinders because one of the 4 induction coils is defective. Can I drive the car to the repair shop in it's current condition or do I really need to tow it? The repair shop is 3km (1,9mi) away. Will the catalytic converter heat up badly by driving that distance in 3 cylinders?
P.S. The car is drivable but the engine won’t go over 2500 rpm.

I would like some advice guys. I took my car to walmart & they said my oil was low and asked me to sign a statement saying they were'nt responsible for any damage done to the vehicle previously because of the low oil level. I told the guy that i'd just wait if the oil was low and take it to a mechanic to see what the problem is. "no point in getting an oil change if its just going to leak out" i said. He said, "Oh no its just 2 small leaks so it should be fine". He literally talked me back into the oil change and i signed the waiver.
Went straight home and the car sat for a couple days cause i dont drive a lot. 4 days later i found a bad oil leak and drove straight home cause i didn't want to blow the engine. Next moring I took it in to another shop who showed me that walmart had left the plug lose allowing the oil to spill out. The shop refilled the oil and as soon as i started my car i knew my car wasn't right. Now walmarts wont do anything saying they're not responsible.

My power locks are not working properly. When I turn the key to unlock th drivers side, it unlocks and then when I pull the handle it automaticaly locks itself. Same thing on the inside. I am unable to successfully unlock the door. The only way I am able to get in is through the passenger doors and climb over. Please tell me how to fix this and/or how much it would cost to fix. Thank you in advance!

Hi
I had a question to ask you as i read your a wheel alignment expert. 4 days ago my car skid and i went over the curb but was lucky enough to straighten my wheels and go straight into it. I probly went into it at 40km/h becuz my whole car went into the island. my car is a 2001 nissan maxima se 20th anniversary which has a stiffer suspension. The road and the curb were at an incline; the road being a little higher than the curb. I was wondering what sort of damage could it have caused my car and how i can point that out? i noticed my right front steel rim got a dent in it. My alignment doesnt seem to be off, i think its very little off but that may be becuz of the rim since it hit the weight part. Btw, i have toyo winter tires on 16". Is my suspension gone? or the struts? ive been noticing for since i bought the car a month ago that when i go over bumps it makes a cruk sound, it might be normal becuz my dads van makes it too, is it normal? thers no vibration just the sound. plz if u could help me figure out if thers anything that might need attention. Also, how do i kno where tie rods are, what they look like? Its my first car and im very cautious about it, i hope you understand.
Thanks a lot!
bye

I know that 6 point sockets are supposed to grip the fastener better. Why would you even want 12 point sockets other than if you had a fastener that was 12 point?

Is there some other difference besides the # of points?

My car is making a high pitched whiny kinda squealing noise! When I left home, it
started this high pitched squeal....then stopped...drove about 60 miles...It sat for about two hours in a parking lot. On the way home, it started that noise
and never stopped...Just as I was turning into the subdivision, my radio quit and
my lights went real dim on my dash...the ABS light came on...pulled in the drive...
turned it off and waited a second, tried to turn it back on and it just clicked...dead
battery...

Any clues, anyone?!
