My car is running in 3 cylinders because one of the 4 induction coils is defective. Can I drive the car to the repair shop in it's current condition or do I really need to tow it? The repair shop is 3km (1,9mi) away. Will the catalytic converter heat up badly by driving that distance in 3 cylinders?
P.S. The car is drivable but the engine won’t go over 2500 rpm.

Probably, it's best to have it towed going to the shop.. additional damages might be the result if you'll still drive that. Or probably, let the technician go over your place..

Best towed, however i would not hesatite to drive that short distance with it. Coils break down like everything else. For the most part Coils break down due to heat. This case it could have been defective from the get go. Check that the wiring to this coil is all attached to it. Have a fun day.
