The reason i'm asking is because i keep looking at some pickups for sale with diesel motors in them with over 100k+ miles on them and still selling for big bucks!! How many miles is considered "a lot" for a diesel engine??

When the lights are fully on (With or without Dipped lights) the beams do not work, if I have only the side lamps on the beams work fine, this is a MOT failure but don't know if this is a job for an auto electrician or a poor "earthing" issue, can anyone help ?

I went to a meeting this morning at 10am. My truck started fine,
drove perfect...even told me I needed to get more fuel. I come out of my meeting an hour later and it won't start. Won't even turn over. Tried jumping it, no dice. I came home to read about the PATS and it mentioned if the THEFT light flashes, you got a bad key/bad ignition ring connection. So naturally, I go back to my truck, which is sitting at a pizza place, and looked for symptoms of PATS malfunction. Nothing, nothing is/was wrong with my truck. The lights work, all of the diagnostics come on, fuel pump comes on, it even dims the lights when I try to start it. I'm so mad I'm shaking.

What do I do? It seems so easy to fix, but everything I have tried hasn't worked.

Regards,

Sean

I drive a 98 Ford Escort. Currently, it drives VERY loudly. When I am pressing on the gas, it almost sounds like a motorcycle. But only when I am pressing on the gas. Is that my muffler or something else? And, if it is my muffler, how much will it cost to fix on average?

This breaking news, has anyone had any experiences?
because my car was cutting out while i was driving and even lost power when i was on the A3 near where i live.
I ended up taking it to 2 garages including Ford and they couldn't find anything wrong with it.
I have had no other problems apart from this, any one had anything similiar

I currently have a Pug 106 1.1 so i wont something bigger in size and bigger in engine size.
I travel arround quite alot racking up 150 miles a week for work plus travelling at the weekends around 200 miles, so im looking for something that good on fuel, good on motorways but good around town too.
I have a max of £6k to spend and would ideally like something about a 1.6

What do you recommend and Why?

Those local repair/auto shops.

I've own a 2001 Civic but my headlights assemblies are busted by some kids (I presumed, since I parked at an alley in my downtown area). I know that if I get a pair from the Honda dealers, they will just quote me their list price, which is expensive.

So, is it ok to order a new pair from my local/auto shops since they'll be cheaper? I've never dealt with them before and I've no idea where they're getting those pair of headlights from.

I recently had to replaced my k member and had to take the whole front suspension off and put it back on again to do it. I got the front end alligned after everything was in place. It didn't seem they had done a good job b/c when I drove it home from the shop it had a little bit of pull to the left. It has gradually got worse over time and the left tire is starting to wear uneven. What could cause it to come out of allignment like that? What can I do to fix it and make sure it dosn't happen again?

I was parked one day with the A/C blowing cold air when it suddenly blew out a white-ish cloud of smoke in the front. After that happened the A/C would not blow out cold air.

I've taken it to a local shop to have it recharged and to have the hoses checked, but there were no leaks found. After having it recharged the A/C worked great for about 2 weeks and now it's having Almost the same problem.

Now cold air only comes out when the RPMS reach 4000 or more. If they drop below 4000 then the cold air slowly starts to reach a warmer temp.

Any help would be appreciated.

I thought about the Honda Dealership here in Grand Blanc but ppl tell me they will over charge me-but being a foreign car they will probably have to order parts so i thought it was a good idea...and then theres how am i going to get it here? I need to know a good towing company and i dont know how much the usual rate is....i just want my car fixed and i only have about 700 dollars to put towards it--help please

If anyone saw the other post, this is the same camero. I just bought it, and understood when i bought it that it leaked coolant. However, what I don;t understand is she said the shop said that it only leaked under pressure, and that to replace the $12 seal (I don't know what seal they are talking about) would cost $600 because they would have to pull the engine to get at it. so they say.

This sound familiar to anyone? only leaking under pressure, hard to get to 'seal' Doesn't sounds like a freeze plug, because wouldn't that drip all the time, no matter what? My granfather spoke of a water jacket seal, but none of the shops I talked to had ever heard of that.

I just bought a 94 camero with 154000miles on it. I'm wondering how long do y'all predict before I will have to rebuild the engine and tranny? the engine currently has a coolant leak somewhere, not sure where yet.

I made a mistake and asked this question earlier but said 'radiator core'. Apologies to all.

It's expensive to fix because it's behind the dash and I haven't the money. The mechanic wants to disconnect the hoses and bypass it but I won't have any heat.
Some folks said I should pour in some stop leak but that's when everyone thought it was just the radiator.
Can stop leak beads fix the heater core also?
