I filled up my Corsa on Friday night at Sainbury's, on the Saturday my car was juddery and didn't seem right- it was ABSOLUTELY fine before! In the end, the engine management light came on and the car stalled and wouldn't start up. This has resulted in calling out the RAC and Green Flag (Happened twice) and is now in a garage waiting to be repaired.

My town was mentioned on ITV news this evening as having fuel problems..and my town is NEVER mentioned! Could this be related? I'm very angry, but slightly relieved!

Because the car will run at the moment, might it work if I have the petrol taken out and better fuel put in? It's an L reg and I plan to sell it within the next few weeks to move abroad so don't want to spend much on the stupid thing!!

when i pull on the pull start on my engine, it doesn't move. can it be the flywheel. If so how do you remove it.

Ok whats the difference between 5 stroke 40 semi synthetic and 10 stroke 40 semi synthetic. need to know as my car is due a oil change. its a petrol turbo. any suggestions on the brands and what to use. thanks

I stripped my honda del sol and sold as much as much parts as I could from it. It is basically just the shell now with no wheels, breaks, or rotors on it. I want to get it out of my driveway now.

I have a Ford Probe Gt 94. My engine is running hot. It can run for 30 minutes before the gage says it hot. There are no leaks in the engine if waters comes out it bubbles back up through the radiator cap. My car starts right up and its driveable. No white smoke. Fans are OK, Ithink the water pump is fine, and nothing wrong with the head gasket. What could it be?

ive just brought a nissian skyline which has been extremly modified,it has two rather large nos tanks under the boot compartment.and they work belive me! the thing topped out at 207mph very scary!! thing is i dont trust them how would i go about removing them?

Hi, just out of curiosity I was wondering: How do car air conditioners work? My parents have always said something about freon, and my chemistry teacher mentioned it the other day. Yet I looked it up on the internet, and it was banned back in 1995 because it was a chlorofluorocarbon (CFC), which totally kills the ozone layer. What do they use to cool the air now? Thanks.

It came on the other day as i has driving and i had to pull over as my engine lost power and i couldn't accelerate. I had to turn the engine off and leave it 5mins and when i started the engine everything seemed ok. Im worried as I do alot of motorway driving if you see a lime green focus on the M3 thats me! I have replaced the passenger side front tire about 5 times in 5 years. The tread is never worn; however the inside of the tire always looks like its been opened with a can-opener. what is causing my tire to get cut open?

First the facts:

The oil is new, Castrol 10W-40--just changed. The oil filter is new as well, and the correct filter was used. The oil level was checked, and it registers right on the full level line on the dipstick.

When the engine is started, it runs smoothly and quietly. It could sit there for an hour, just idling, and it would continue to run smoothly and with no problems. Idling is good. Idling is happy!

Then, when you get behind the wheel and take it out on the road, a strange thing happens. After about a mile or so, the oil light comes on and the engine begins to get a little weird sounding. No knocking, just not running quite as smoothly anymore. When you pull over and let the car sit for a few hours, you can start it up again, and resume the endless loop of circumstances that began in the previous paragraph.

i have a 1989 suburban that keeps blowing my guage fuse
every so often-the guage will blow and i will let it sit for a few days or even a couple of hours and put another fuse in and it will run just fine for a couple of weeks or more-but when the guage fuse blows and i take off my NEG battery cable it will die as if it is a charging problem?-and when the guage fuse is working properly i will take off the NEG battery cable it will stay running-does it sound like i may have a altantor problem over charging-if so then the fuse will blow all the time?-and why does it have to sit for a couple of days before it starts working agin?-does it sound like somthing is getting hot
or a ignition switch problem?

I want to buy one but besides the price of new batteries down the road what kind of maintenance to the engine will I have to perform? Will I be looking at lower maintenance costs than a internal combustion engine. Will the initial high cost to buy it even out after a few yrs ? Oh and how much money in energy will I save I mean my household current will be used to recharge!
