Usually the firing order is forged into the intake manifold .. 162435

On a cool engine, Remove the spark plug on #1 cylinder and hold your thumb over the hole. have a friend slowly turn the engine over by hand ( using a socket & bar on the engine crank bolt) Make sure you are turning it in the right direction. as the cylinder comes up on the compression stroke the pressure will push your thumb off of the hole. run this cylinder up to the very top of the stroke. ** noting the direction the rotor is turning*
Now take a look at the position of the ign rotor. it will be pointing at the #1 terminal on the distributor cap. ( you will have to have the cap removed to see this) this will identify the #1 cylinder wire position. Now if you remember which way the rotor is turning. set the rest of the wires in firing order relative to this starting point.

I'm pretty sure they come off the distributor and go to the spark plugs?

4 plugs are for intake and four are for exhaust. sure you're able to alter all of them. And if i'm not fallacious each and every set of four has a different section style. good success and need this facilitates.
