i have a relatively new black car and whilst i had plastic covering the area round my wing mirror it has lost some colur and is faded..what's the best product to get this back to new? The area is part plastic,part bodywork

I would hazard a guess that the reason your paint is fading, where that of the use of abrasives like T-Cut. Don't use them. every1 uses them and it actually removes the surface of your paint, until there's nothing left. The best thing to do is have it treated with a gentle spray and have them spray the whole car in a lacquer, so the paint is no-longer exposed and a simple wash-down with a sponge will give great results every time.

Buy a tin of T. cut from halfords and apply with a soft cloth and rud the area in asmall circuler movement, then polish up with a dry soft cloth.

Use Meguiar's # 7 show car glaze for the body colored section....
if the plastic section is textured, use Meguiar's rubber and vinyl cleaner.....both work wonders and are non abrasive.

They sell a good one in Halfords. And Woolies sometimes have a cheap one.
