I own a 1999 Honda Civic Lx. The car is very sluggish (having a 0-60 acceleration time of over 16 seconds) and i can not figure out why. I just recently had a new timing belt installed, changed the oil, and replaced the air intake filter. I was told that i need to replace my fuel filter. Can an old fuel filter really cause my car to take 6 seconds longer to reach 60mph? Are there any other engine problems that may be causing this loss of horsepower? any advice would be great. thank you very much

Hey everyone. I'm having a small problem with my car today. For the first time in a few months it rained today and I took my car out on my lunch break and saw white steam coming from the bonnet of my car. I looked at the temp gauge and it was normal so it wasn't overheating. I've booked in my car with my mechanic later today but I just wanted to ask around and see what some people thought it could be?
By the way my car is a 1986 toyota celica.

It has 22,500 miles, so it still has 2 years/27,500 miles left on the factory warranty. It is the 2.3 liter Special Edition version in Mint Condition. Intellichoice, Consumer Reports, & Edmunds rate it very well for reliability, but I haven't found any strong case for or against buying the extended coverage. I'm being offered 5 years/100,000 miles 5-Star coverage from GE for $1350. Appreciate you help.

I was wondering if you would have any answers to the reason my stock Vl modified to a turbo stalls on deccelaration ?
Im pretty sure I no why it's stalling when the throttle is taken off but Im not sure how to fix it.

Basically the car has been modified to turbo and to accomodate for this the IAC valve which is normally connected by a rubber hose to the rocker cover as been blocked off and the rocker cover is venting to atmosphere via a small air filter. So basically the car is idling off the throttle and not the IAC, when I bought the car it was already like this and I was not exactly sure how to fix it, so that the car was idling of the IAC.
I no I can plumb the IAC into the air filter piping infront of the turbo but this means I will have to get attachments welded on. I was wondering if I can simply just remove the rocker cover air filter and plumb the IAC valve back into the rocker cover as it was origionally or will this effect the tur

I drive a 94 Toyota Tercel. A basic project car... and something to drive to work and school. (Saves mileage on my VW Rabbit).
Anyway, I just drove over a pot hole late at night not even noticing it... so I started smelling smoke. I then parked at my driveway and turned off my car and pulled my key out of ignition. I then heard some crackling static noise from my only working speaker. Then BAM! Smoke started coming out of my two air vents above my radio. Is this an engine problem or just an overheating problem with the radio? My radio isn't stock and who ever put it in the Tercel did a poor job... it doesn't even work... it worked two days ago but not anymore. There's no way I can turn off this stupid radio and all it does is illuminate and gives off as bait for car jackers. I'm thinkin' of just yanking it out... but I would want a professional to do it since I might pull the wrong wires... blah. Is it the radio? Or did I wreck something when I went over that darn pot hole?

2000 chevy cavalier (56K),I posted an overheating issue last Friday(thank you for your kind responses). In the next day, the engine temperature went all way up then I had to send it to a garage this week.
The machanic replaced the thermostat and cleaned the clogged radiator, just got my car back, it seemes Ok now. but I just found out that the guy flushed out the Dex-Cool and replaced it with the old-style green antifreeze. Is it Ok to use a different type of coolant?
