You either have a stuck thermostat that is closed (cheap to fix ) or have a water pump that is about to go. Check your garage floor for small leaks of radiator fluid. That is the water pump that is leaking. This is a normal maintenance item, when they go, they go.

Check a Toyota maintenance manual for the thermostat replacement. If it's the water pump, let a qualified mechanic replace that and don't hassle with it.

If you are having a lot of radiator fluid on the garage floor, look to see where it is coming from--if it is from the radiator, then there is probably a leaking hose which needs replacing.

It is unlikely that a radiator needs replacing unless it became clogged for some reason or the outlet where the radiator and hose meet cracked in very very cold weather, they are mostly plastic now.

It sounds like you may have blown a head gasket, bad water pump, or a stuck thermostat. One thing you can do is when the engine is running and warm squeeze the top radiator hose, if it gets hard to squeeze and warm to hot then your water pump is probably fine as well as your thermostat. If it is not hard or firm then your water pump is not working properly. The other thing you can check is your oil. If your oil appears to have water or coolant or is a milky looking color then you have a blown head gasket or leaking intake gasket, both of which will require a mechanic to repair... Good Luck

first thing to check is the thermostat, replace it anyways.

check the hoses and make sure they are not leaking, any kind of rubbery feeling or streching in the hoses you should replace the hose.

check the water pump for weeping, if you see coolant or rust around the pump...replace it.

then replace the coolant with all new 50% coolant mix with water.

good luck.....
